The ideal candidate should have a strong background in mining, mineral rights, state and federal public land and natural resources law. Direct experience advising and counseling corporate and individual clients on a wide variety of mining and public lands issues required. A strong background negotiating, documenting and closing various types of exploration, development and mine operating agreements is necessary. Excellent academic credentials, strong written and oral communications skills, analytical and problem-solving skills are required. Enviroscientists, Inc., a Reno, Nevada, based environmental consultant firm, has an opening for a full-time GIS Specialist in our Reno, Nevada, office. This position will be responsible for fulfilling and managing the GIS requirements for natural resource development projects. Responsibilities include producing cartographic figures for NEPA and other permitting documents, performing detailed geospatial natural resource analysis, and organizing and managing numerous project databases to optimize workflow and efficiency. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science with a strong emphasis on GIS application and analysis, one year of related work experience, strong data management skills, and a demonstrable proficiency in creating effective cartographic figures and map documents.
