Contributions or gifts to NWMA are not deductible as contributions for federal income tax purposes. However, dues payments are deductible by members as an ordinary & necessary business expense. NWMA has estimated that 25% of the 2008 dues are allocable to lobbying which IRS Sections 162(E)(3) and 6033(E)(1) as amended apply. Consequently, this portion of the NWMA dues is not deductible for federal income tax purposes.
